Props3D Projects YOU can build yourself!

This site is VERY new, it will be jank, things will be broken. I’m building it live to save time. Updates are daily!

Aliens Pulse Rifle

The Props 3D Interpretation of the Aliens Pulse Rifle started with the technical plans for the Thompson machine gun, building it as an exact technical match for the real thing. After the the modifications were added converting the Thompson into this screen accurate Pulse Rifle. This model features working mechanical action, you can pull the bolt back and release it using the trigger. The grenade launcher will chamber and eject grenades using the pump. The stock is retractable. This just looks, and feels, like the real deal.

Aliens Ithica 37

The Ithica 37 is the only successful commercial shotgun where the loading port is also the ejection port giving the gun and interesting look. The Ithica model used in Aliens had the rear grip and stick of a German MP40, giving it the district ‘hole’ in the back. We have replicated every detail of the original prop used by Hicks in Aliens using screen used references as well as reference Ithica shotgun. This model is a very easy glue together build, only requiring 5 optional screws to complete the look. It features a working pump for an authentic feel.

Fallout – Laser Pistol

A realistic real world version of Fallout’s iconic pre-war sidearm. This has been remodeled to human scale. The model used in the game is comically disproportioned for a real human, as many game models are. So I took the game models, a little real world practicality, and made this inspired design.
This is an extremely beginner friendly model, the only tools needed is… glue! All parts are indexed with filament pins just cut from 1.75 filament that also help give the model some strength.

Xena – Chakram

The Chakram is the trademark weapon of Xena. This throwing weapon puts a certain captain’s shield to shame. Bouncing between whatever the thrower wants it to bounce off of this clearly runs off mind control. This is the fire version of the Dark Chakram, my favorite one due to it’s more complex pattern. The 10mm discs in the chakram are Pāua abalone which can be printed easily in the stead of the real deal. Once thrown it has the ability to ricochet off objects and return to the thrower, which requires high dexterity to catch. Only four people have been seen to control the Chakram successfully: Xena, Gabrielle, Callisto and Eve.

Beastmaster Caber

One of my favorite pieces of 80s cheese the Beastmaster Caber is one of the most impractical weapons ever put to film. Using this weapon in combat is almost as likely to do in the wielder as their intended target, making it just a fantastically fun prop to have. The caber does not slide open and closed but can be positioned from an open to a closed position. The movie prop worked the same way as it keeps it ‘in position’. One of the easiest builds ever, not even requiring glue, this can be printed and on display before lunch time.

Aliens Combat Knife

Aliens USCM Combat Knife, strong enough to cosplay with. Based on a clone of the Gerber MKII fighting knife this is an iconic accessory of any colonial marine. Can be best seen in Aliens while used by Bishop while playing the knife game with Private Hudson, it makes it’s appearance many times during the movie. This is a recreation of the copy used in the movie, not as commonly mistaken the actual Gerber MKII.

Props3D – Rubber Band SMG

Fully Automatic Rubber Band gun with reciprocating bolt and lock back action. When you release the bolt it will cycle backwards knocking a bulge on the rear of the elastic catch into the rocker causing it to rotate a quarter turn. This will load a band onto the catch, which is then held in place by the bolt getting stopped by the trigger sear. When you pull the trigger, the band on the catch pulls the bolt forward and releases the band towards your target, then another small band on the bottom of the catch pulls the bolt back and the catch hits a shoe again allowing the magazine to rotate another quarter turn. This repeats with a satisfying noise, the bolt cycling back and forth like a real open bolt SMG, and lots of rubber flying towards your intended victim, and good fun is had by all hopefully. Holds 8 rounds one at a time or 1 15 if your really feeling lucky.

Mandalorian Blaster

Electronic Mandalorian IB-94 Blaster with lights and sounds. Modeled to spec using screen and Bergman references.  Selector turns the blaster on and off. RGB LED in the front has a convincing fire animation. Sound can easily be customized just by swapping files on the SD Card.  Large speaker with amp in the body is suitable for conventions. Cleaning rod can be removed as an extra touch. This is a pretty easy make and doesn’t use a lot of filament.

Fallout Nuka Grenade

What’s more cool than a nuclear grenade? Well, I for one would be hesitant to either lob one of these or keep it in my vest pocket. But such is the awesomeness of video grenades. One of the most visually striking and interesting grenade designs this one begs to be made. There’s also a USB light up ‘Nuka Quantum’ version for a night light display. Very easy glue only design only takes 20min to make.

Compliance Dart Gun

When I saw Mark Rober’s compliant mechanism dart gun it was more than cool, it was a new way of storing potential energy that I had never seen before. So of course I printed one, and the dart went about a foot… It was still cool though. So I set about redesigning it as close as I could to his but with a respectable amount of power. This baby shoots clear across the room so show it a bit of respect before testing.

Star Wars – Mouse Droid

The MSE-6 repair droid or “mouse droid” manages to be both the ugliest and cutest droid in the Star Wars universe, at the same time. Showing up in A New Hope in just a short scene before skittering away this little guy makes appearances all over the place. This little guy hides a surprise inside, a USB and SD/MicroSD card holder. It’s a very simple glue together make and is a great way to keep your storage media organized.

Buck Rogers – Ray Gun

A classic toy from the 1940s this gained popularity when it was featured on the cover of a Foo Fighters album. I just loved the retro design and couldn’t resist designing my own. The original produced sparks you could see in the top windows using a flint.

Single Action Army Rubber Band Gun

This 6 shooter is a real single action rubber band gun. Just as much the bane of younger siblings today as it was in the old west. A no-glue screw together build this is an easy project with a great bang for your buck.

Dredd – Proximity Mine

Nobody gets the drop on Judge Dredd, not when he leaves these babies behind him to catch unwary perps by surprise. This is a simple one piece print with an optional magnet to stick onto metal surfaces.

Dune – Adredes Flechette Pistol

One of the odder props from the David Lynch 1984 Dune movie this handheld pistol shot sharp pieces of metal. Rendered obsolete by shields it was still carried by many soldiers, much like the soldiers of today will often carry swords (the reverse obsolescence). This is an easy glue together 3 piece design requiring no extra parts.

Dredd – Gas Grenade

One of Judge Dredd’s less lethal gadgets this gas grenade features pullable pin and spring loaded actuator to throw the spoon clear when you pull it. A ton of fun and a surprising twist to go with any Judge’s ensemble.

Looney Tunes Acme A-1 Disintegrating Pistol

Marvin the Martian’s Duck Dodgers A-1 Disintegrating Pistol is the peak of Martian military might in the 24 1⁄2th century. A simple glue together prop this one is fun to build and easy to print.

THIS IS A NEW SITE! ADDING PROJECTS AS FAST AS I CAN, THERE’S OVER 50 AND COUNTING

Star Wars E-11

This E-11 has more functions that I care to count.. but let’s try: Super loud sounds system. Addressable LEDs down the barrel creating a really cool fire effect of the laser or stun going down the barrel. Working selector to toggle between fire and stun, or hold for the Imperial March. Working bolt and spring, cocking the bolt toggles the power on and off. Light up scope with realistic reticle. Stock folds out and locks in place like the real thing. Magazine is the battery compartment so you can swap batteries with the magazine. To boot it is an exact replica built off the engineering Sterling plans with all E-11 add on parts included.

Expanse – Rhino

The Expanse used this real world revolver for it’s futuristic looks as Detective Miller’s sidearm. This is a really unique design with a lot of advantages.. and a perfect platform for a rubber band 6 shooter! Featuring single action fire just pull back the hammer to cock and let the rubber fly. Barrel is removable and changeable just like the real Rhino for more power.. or sneakier portability.

Firefly – Mal’s Blaster

A very unique design built over a real revolver but leaving almost nothing showing so you might as well consider this just the prop as far as design is concerned. An excellent example of Steam Punk design this fits the western meets future world of Firefly. The Hero prop of the series this one just as so many cool little details it was a joy to model and replicate. There’s also an easy to build mechanism to let you cock the hammer and fire it with the trigger. Just a fidget feature, but a fun one I’ve enjoyed playing with.

Star Wars SE-14r

The ubiquitous imperial sidearm of the Galactic Empire. Carried by officers, special forces, bounty hunters, and pretty much every faction you can name. Seriously, watch Star Wars with an eye for it and you’ll see it used everywhere. This electronic model features working sound and lighting effects. You can also mount a real scope, backwards as is Star Wars tradition, as well as including a 3D printable scope.

Star Wars – Death Trooper Grenade

C-25 fragmentation grenade, or Death Trooper grenade, is a small grenade often seen worn on the ammo vests of imperial troopers, and almost always on Death Troopers. This is an easy 4 part glue together print and should be trivial to assemble. It makes a great display item but it’s strong enough to troop around in.
